(sorry about the extremely delayed post!)
"Rora! Wanna come over to my house today? We can discuss our homework!" Lindsey Browne, Aurora's best friend and fellow braniac, asked. Aurora was one of the few kids in her school who were in Gifted class, and they were considered the nerdiest of the nerdiest. Besides, all of them had an IQ of at least 120. The other kids in school kept far away from them, as they were actually interested in homework. All the others, however, were interested in different things. Things like hanging out with friends, shopping, and reading magazines. Aurora might not be popular in school itself, but in her circle, she was considered the cleverest...and the weirdest.
Aurora was known as 'Rora' to her few but true friends. She was extremely smart, so smart that she was considered weird. Everyday, she would bring a sketchbook to school. In the middle of class, she would just write down some mathematical formula she had thought of when daydreaming. Aurora always daydreamed, but her worksheets and test papers were far from badly done. Other than her childish, messy handwriting, her work was excessively brilliant, and the teachers even had difficulty understading her complex theories at times. After school, she would usually hang out at her best friend's house, and discuss homework with her. Today, however, she was not in the mood to do so. She had something important to do.
"Sorry, Lindsey... I'm busy today." Not saying another word, she turned and left, leaving her best friend puzzled and speechless at her abrupt actions. Exactly what was she up to? But as Aurora was never a person to confide in others, she probably would never tell anyone. No, only she would know that her mission was to investigate Number 27, the mysterious old house with a mysterious new neighbour.Labels: 27th Hillside Street
